New book: L'AI per i docenti

My new book is out: L'AI per i docenti — Guida pratica ("AI for Teachers — A Practical Guide"), available now on Amazon in Italian.

It starts from an uncomfortable truth: your students use artificial intelligence every day. For homework, for studying, for writing, for finding shortcuts. They do it on their own, without guidance, often without anyone in the classroom ever talking about it. The question is no longer whether AI has entered the school — it's already there. The question is: as a teacher, what do you do now?

Why I wrote it

I've been working in automation since 2008 and have followed AI's evolution from the inside, and in the last few years I've spoken with hundreds of teachers. Different schools, different subjects, different generations — yet they all ask the same question: how can I use AI without losing the meaning of my profession?

This book is my answer. It's not a computer science manual, and it's not a philosophical essay on artificial intelligence. It's a hands-on guide written for those who teach — from primary school to university — with concrete workflows, real examples and ready-to-use prompts.

How the book is structured

• Understand before using — how the AI your students use really works, explained without jargon: what it does well, what it does badly, and why it makes mistakes with total confidence.
• Use it yourself first — planning lessons, creating teaching materials, grading and giving personalised feedback, communicating with families and colleagues. The administrative time AI can give back to teachers.
• Guide your students — because banning AI doesn't work. The only alternative is teaching students to use it critically, rethinking assignments and assessment for the AI era.
• The real risks — cognitive laziness, unequal access, data privacy. What not to put in a prompt, and the rules every school should have.
• The teacher who remains irreplaceable — the relationship, the trust, the moment a student truly understands. No AI will ever do these things.

AI doesn't take your profession away. It redefines it.

Something I care about

The book includes a chapter dedicated to Pope Leo XIV's encyclical Magnifica Humanitas — the first pontifical document on artificial intelligence — read through the eyes of those who teach. Technology at the service of people, ethics, awareness and responsibility are not side notes in this book: they are one of its four pillars.

Before publication, the book was reviewed by teachers of every level — primary, middle and secondary school, and university — and by academics of the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross. Their feedback shaped the final text, and I'm grateful for it.
